Has there a link Between Stress and Infertility?

by June 7, 2023

There has been recent debate about the link between stress and women unable to conceive naturally or with the aid of fertility treatments. And now according to a new report published by Jacky Boivin PHD, of Cardiff University in the British Medical Journal there is no evidence that stress or anxiety reduces the chances of pregnancy with a specific treatment cycle.

But a lot of infertility experts are a little skeptical about this study as they are not convinced that this study is totally conclusive. According to them numerous studies during the last 15 years have shown that stress does indeed have an impact on the outcome of IVF treatment. And I tend to agree with them.

What this study has done is to stir the pot and this debate will carry on for the foreseeable future, but the one good thing that it has done is to put some more limelight on the importance of controlling stress levels in your life as living under stress and tensions will have adverse affects on various parts of your life including infertility and keeping these under control is essential.

Is the Size of the Male Organ That Important? Think Again

by June 7, 2023

The question that I am asked the most has got to do with the size of the penis; most men have this notion that having a bigger sized male organ will make them better lovers & satisfy their female partner. The problem is that the huge majority of men who want to increase the size of their penis think that their size is below average, when actually most of them are at average or above. This is a major area of anxiety for them & causes a lot of unnecessary stress.

Here are the facts; an average erect penis size is about 5 inches long & 2 to 3 inches wide & is more than enough to satisfy their female partners. The fact is that how you treat your partner emotionally & physically in bed is far more important than the size of your penis. This means that you want to work on your love making techniques instead of wondering if you are big enough.

Talk to your partner openly about what she likes & dislikes in bed & then make the extra effort to concentrate on the things she enjoys in bed & stay away from the things she is not comfortable with. How you cure your partner before intimacy is as important as during it.

Make her feel special & see the change in the intensity & satisfaction that you both feel during your next intimate session.

So stop obsessing about your size (you are probably big enough) & start focusing on the more important things that will improve your relationship not only in bed but also outside of it.

As a side note, if you still feel that your size is below average & that you have to increase the size of your penis, then I suggest you talk to your physician or a sex specialist so that you can learn about the implications, side effects & the effectiveness of the type of method you want to use for increasing the size of your male organ. Does this before you try any type of treatment?

Has Sound Wave Treatment for Impotence Effective & Safe?

by June 7, 2023

Any time there are any new growths in the field of treatment for erectile dysfunction there is huge media coverage & it is no different this time as major news agencies are giving widespread coverage to a recent study done where extra-corporeal shock wave therapy was used to improve sexual function of some men suffering from severe erectile dysfunction or impotence.

This is a alike technique which is used to break kidney stones, & before we get too excited, it’s important to note that the study was conducted on a relatively small number of patients (29 men) & the results are far from conclusive in my opinion to rate this type of treatment as effective.

The major drawback of this technique as I see it is that it is primarily a destructive one as it is used to break down things more than anything else (as demonstrated in the process of breaking kidney stones). So the long-term effects & the safety are question marks.

I am not dismissing this treatment out of hand but I feel that a lot more research needs to be done over a much longer period of time, connecting a larger number of volunteers before I can even think of endorsing it. But having said that it has been a development on which I for one will be keeping a keen eye out for.

Meanwhile if you undergo from erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation, I suggest consulting doctor or a qualified sexologist to get expert opinion & treatment.

Has it Safe to Have Sex during Pregnancy?

by June 7, 2023

This is a very common question asked by couples who are expecting their first child. This is a very valid query, as there is not a lot of information about this important subject. In general it is quite safe to have sex during pregnancy.

Though there is not enough evidence to prove that restriction of sex for those women who are at a risk of preterm labor or face a complication like placenta previa, during their pregnancy is totally necessary, it is recommended that they avoid having sex during their term. Which is a sensible course of action just to be on the safe side?

In normal or low risk pregnancies, the decision to have sexual intercourse is a decision which should be taken by the expectant mother. She should be comfortable with the idea & feel physically up to it. Stop the moment she starts to feel uncomfortable about it. It is important for the man to be understanding & supportive of her feelings even if having sex is safe.

Due to the hormonal & physical changes that a pregnant woman goes through, it is even more important for her partner to reassure her about her looks & attractiveness. This will not only make her feel much better about herself but also encourage her to be more intimate.

In any case it is always recommended that you clear all your doubts about having sex during pregnancy with your doctor. & remember if in doubt or at the first sign of discomfort, discontinue & abstain from sex until you consult with your doctor & follow his /her recommendations.

Increased Intake of Medicines May Lead To Erectile Dysfunction

by May 29, 2023

In a new study published in the British Journal of Urology, findings showed that men who take ten or more medications were 60% more likely to encounter sex related problems than those who didn’t. As we all know, in today’s arena & age a lot of us have a tendency to take medications for ailments both real & perceived. These can have a detrimental effect on our sex life.

Having said that, make sure that you never ever discontinue taking any medication that has been prescribed by your doctor without his explicit consent. It is more important to sit down with your doctor & discuss the possibility of reducing the medication or perhaps changing it, especially if you are facing some sort of erectile problems.

Another thing that you can do which can improve your health in general & may also lead to a reduction of the medicine intake is to make changes to your daily lifestyle, i.e. incorporating a light exercise routine & healthy eating habits in your day to day life. Doing this will automatically help reduce the risk of erectile dysfunction & make you healthier especially if you suffer from high blood pressure, diabetes & heart problems; all of which contribute to the onset of erectile dysfunction.

Again it is vitally important to start your exercise & diet changes under strict professional medical supervision so that you know that your health is not at risk. You should also consult a qualified sexologist if you continue to suffer from erectile dysfunction so that he can study your medical history & recommend the appropriate medication & exercises.

Importance of Sex Education

by May 29, 2023

Sex education is very important in this fast-paced time. It does not only inform teenagers – it also guides them to do what needs to be done when the situation arises. Sex education is a much broad subject. It touches not just the sexual act & all the sexuality issues surrounding it – it also educates a person into the whole process of rearing a baby & the proper care of one’s self during pregnancy.

More than anybody, sex education is required of teenagers. School teachers are generally tasked to give the lecture although other organizations can help in as well. Non-profit health relations can provide the necessary tools for information dissemination when it comes to sex education.

Sex education can reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies among teenagers. Teenagers have their total life ahead of them & making one grave mistake at one wild night could change all of that. With proper education, they will be eligible to work accordingly. Since they know what could happen, they will be capable to decide for themselves & choose what is right & best for them. Sex education is necessary not only now but in their future.

Aside from unwanted pregnancies, it has been established which very young women who got pregnant often develop health complications. This is because their bodies aren’t ready yet for having a baby as they have just entered the youth stage. Many teenagers have lost not just their future because of wrong sex information but literally, their entire life. This is because they weren’t informed enough about the results of their choices.

Sex education delivered through the right channels is necessary so that teenagers will be given only the right information. Learning about sex through friends & other unreliable sources isn’t a good option. Youth have to learn it from an authority or an expert in the subject.
